Position: Chair of the Department of Nursing
Full-time, 12 month tenure-track appointment
Effective Date: July 1, 2013
Qualifications: Applicants must have a master’s degree in nursing and earned doctorate in nursing or related field, with teaching and administrative experience with a baccalaureate nursing program, and a current unencumbered registered nurse license.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant will assume a leadership role in the administration of the department and off campus sites, including implementing the curricula, supervision of faculty, employment and supervision of clerical and supporting personnel, management of department physical facilities and equipment, and the departmental budget. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, service to the department and the university, and other scholarly activities normally associated with the department. A typical teaching load is 3 credit hours per semester. The chair reports to the dean of the college. Preference will be given to an individual with demonstrated undergraduate teaching excellence.
