The Case Management (CM) Clinical Coordinator will assist the Program Director in administering the clinical and didactic CM program in keeping with the missions and goals of the University and the School of Nursing, WASC, CCNE, AACN, and other relevant standards. This full-time positions is based in Oakland, but supports the Oakland Campus and Sacramento Regional Learning Center.
A partial listing of position responsibilities include: Ensures that all students in the CM program have the appropriate clinical placements to fulfill the CM program requirements and that affiliation agreements are current. Works with faculty and preceptors to ensure quality clinical learning experiences for CM students. Manages the Typhon Student Tracking System and assures the data bases are accurate and current (students, clinical sites, preceptors, faculty). Provides a Typhon training orientation to case management students. Review student databases and ensures that they are up to date – student profiles, immunizations, health records, other clinical requirements (BBP, HIPAA, etc.), collecting, filing student clinical paperwork, creation of student photo roster for each class. Collaborates with the Bay Area Clinical and Preceptor Coordinators to ensure clinical faculty and students meet the clinical facilities’ requirements and ensures that all clinical requirements are submitted to the clinical sites. Teaches in area of expertise and fulfills the responsibilities of faculty in SoN at SMU as identified in the faculty job description.

Effective project planning and implementation skills. Substantial computer and technology skills sufficient to meet teaching and administrative responsibilities.
Education and Experience Requirements: Doctoral degree in nursing or equivalent preferred, MSN required. Registered Nurse in California or license eligible. Minimum of one year full-time experience in nursing education preferred. Minimum of one year CM clinical practice experience preferred.
