The Carol Grotnes Belk Endowed Chair in Nursing

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte School of Nursing seeks a dynamic academic leader to advance the science of nursing at a doctoral granting institution within a growing College of Health and Human Services. The Carol Grotnes Belk Endowed Chair in Nursing is to be held by an outstanding nurse scholar with a regional or national reputation who will be a catalyst for innovation in research across School curriculum. The Chair will make scholarly contributions to interdisciplinary community based research, teaching, community service and will serve as a mentor to junior faculty.

The 1,000-acre campus serves a diverse and growing student body of over 26,000, including 5,400 graduate students enrolled in 63 master's and 20 doctoral programs (the newest among these is the DNP), and a faculty of over 900. This is a 9-month appointment that will begin in the fall semester of 2013. Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience.

 

Qualifications

 

1.      PhD in Nursing (preferred) or related field and Master of Science in Nursing (required).

2.      Eligible to obtain RN license in North Carolina.

3.      Experience in research and/or graduate studies.

4.      Community-based research program with a successful record of partnership, funding and scholarship.

5.      Record consistent with appointment as tenured Full Professor.

6.      Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate the vision, mission and strategic goals of the College to a variety of audiences.
