Founded in 1881 by the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, UIW is the largest Catholic university in the state and the fourth largest private university in Texas. The Endowed Professor reports to the Dean of Ila Faye Miller School of Nursing and Health Professions. Responsibilities include providing leadership in the promotion of research; advancement of nursing within the University and San Antonio/South Texas communities; scholarly activities in grantsmanship, research, publications, and professional presentations; and teaching within area of expertise primarily at the graduate nursing level. Position is based on 10 month contract for 3 years which is renewal based on performance.
Doctorate in nursing or a related field Qualified for rank of at least Associate Professor Master's degree in nursing (unless doctoral degree is in nursing.)
At least five years of effective teaching in baccalaureate or graduate nursing education. Evidence of practice or teaching in a clinical setting and progressive and sustained scholarship/funding track record.
