Associate Professor of Nursing
Alfred State seeks an experienced nursing educator eligible for appointment at the Associate or Full Professor rank who could effectively serve in a departmental leadership position. All full time faculty members develop course materials and teach and evaluate students in the classroom, on-campus lab, or clinical facility. Leadership positions in the nursing department are Chair, Associate Degree and Bachelor of Science program directors, and Associate Degree course coordinators. In these roles, leadership duties may include program direction, assignment of teaching responsibilities, coordination of accreditation activities, hiring of adjuncts and evaluation of faculty and support staff. Leadership experience in Associate Degree nursing education and accreditation is essential. Excellence in teaching and the ability to engage in effective interpersonal communication are required attributes. Experience with simulation and online education is highly desirable. A graduate degree in nursing with doctoral preparation in nursing or a related field is required. RN licensure in New York State is required.
