The College of Nursing is seeking to fill a clinical-track position that will contribute to the teaching and research mission of the University of Cincinnati. This position will be responsible for overall coordination and provision of leadership for curriculum development, implementation and evaluation of the undergraduate track specialties. Reports directly to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. Serves as a mentor, advocate and representative of the faculty. Serves as a liaison between faculty and administration. The Dean delegates authority and accountability to the Executive Director through Associate Deans to ensure that quality, internally academic program offerings are implemented and enhanced throughout each academic year.
Responsibilities specific to the role but not inclusive:
Work with faculty and Program Directors in design of any or all components of the undergraduate curriculum. Provide leadership to ensure consistency in implementation of objectives, grading policies, content, or any teaching/learning methodologies identified by faculty and found in syllabus design. Assure that coordination of courses with multiple sections occur for consistency in requirements and grading across all sections. Provide leadership to ensure faculty have designed and implemented an internally consistent core and specialty curricula within and across all specialties. Collaborates with the College Faculty Councils and Program Directors to maintain a functional and relevant systematic evaluation plan for the undergraduate curriculum. Serve as liaison and representative to College Faculty Councils/Activities and administration. Coordinate and facilitate participation and input by all faculty per shared governance. Develop and maintain an effective shared-governance processes and procedures. Serve as an advocate and liaison from/to faculty within all other areas of the College and University. Establishes teaching schedules and reviews applications for visiting clinical track and adjunct faculty as needed for the workload.
Minimum Qualifications: Academic degree in an appropriate discipline and prior clinical and teaching experience.
Ideal Qualifications: Clinical expertise in their area of specialty and meet the needs of the College of Nursing. At least 2 years' experience in the practice of Nursing as a registered nurse. Must have active unrestricted RN license in the State of Ohio. Must be PhD or DNP prepared.
