Goal
Increase the number of highly qualified new and existing faculty with expertise in geriatrics who will provide academic leadership in geriatric nursing within Oklahoma.
Objectives
1. Recruit and retain full time PhD doctoral students with a geriatric focus and commitment to academic careers
2. Enrich PhD doctoral education through interdisciplinary curriculum enhancement and a Visiting Scholars program
3. Establish a state-wide Oklahoma Geriatric Nursing Education Workgroup (OGNEW)
4. Disseminate shared-use geriatric educational materials through the Center in liaison with OGNEW
5. Implement a mentored Geriatric Nursing Translational Research Training (GeroTRnsT) for doctorally-prepared faculty in the College and state
