Position Title: Associate Degree Nursing Faculty Member (2)
Department: Division of Health Sciences
Reports to: Dean of Health Sciences
Start Date: Fall 2013
Teach nursing students in the ADN program in an integrated and concept-based curriculum involving classroom, college laboratory, and clinical teaching.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Will include daytime program hours. Working hours will be flexible depending on the needs of the Department of Nursing.
Required: possess an earned Master Degree in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing or Higher Education; current Medical Surgical clinician experience. Medical/Surgical nursing backgrounds with demonstrated success teaching nursing in classroom preferred, clinical laboratory and a variety of healthcare settings. Possess a minimum of two years full-time experience in nursing, or its equivalent, within the last five years and evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction. Must have at least two years’ experience teaching nursing in clinical and classroom settings. Faculty member is currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts in good standing and has a valid Massachusetts driver’s license. Maintain expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities.
Demonstrated technological skills in classroom and clinical (e.g. Microsoft Office and PowerPoint, Blackboard); demonstrated skill in outcome evaluation of diverse learners, curriculum processes and program criteria for evaluation; experience with the design and implementation of competency-based evaluation tools in both class and clinical; experience with Patient Simulation; demonstrated strength in teaching introductory and advanced nursing skills; experience working with second-year nursing students; teaching experience at the college level, preferably at a community college; related professional experience; demonstrable use of materials and assignments designed to develop the writing and critical thinking skills of students and to incorporate multi-cultural perspectives; experience with alternative pedagogies such as service-learning, learning communities, and distance learning; strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing or Higher Education
Salary Range: $41,470 - $92,555. Commensurate with education and teaching experience.
