The purpose of the job is to serve in a management and leadershipcapacity reporting to the appropriate Academic Dean or Administrator for theresponsibility of overall department operations in accordance with collegepolicies, procedures and contractual agreement, and in support of the overallplan of the college. Employees in this job classification are responsible forthe comprehensive coordination and administration of all matters relating topersonnel, students, scheduling curriculum implementation, external agencies, instruction, and all financial considerations relating to the department, and accomplishes such incoordination with the colleges' mission and college wide goals and campus-basedinitiatives. Associate Deans provide leadership for all instructional programswhich may include all or some of the courses within the associate degrees aswell as vocational and technical certificates. Performs related work asdirected.

Master's Degree in Nursing required. Doctorate in Higher Education or Nursing preferred.
Requires three years teaching experience in Nursing at the postsecondarylevel, with a history of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings.
History of demonstrated leadership roles in educational settings withincreasing responsibility in past positions and demonstrate abilities incommunication, leadership, management, teamwork, critical thinking,organizational skills, analytical skills, problem solving, conflict resolutionand long range or strategic academic planning skills. Excellent oral and written communication, financial management and budget design skills. Demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarly/creative research in higher education. In-depth knowledge of Nursing.
Must have current and active Registered Nurse License from the State ofFlorida with no history of suspension or having any action taken against thatlicense.
