Assistant/Associate Research Professor, Adjunct Series

DESCRIPTION: As a member of the Department of Family Health Care Nursing, the successful candidate will conduct research, teach, and participate in service activities. We seek candidates with research and teaching expertise in relevant family health care nursing topics, particularly women’s and children’s issues. Concurrent expertise in health equity or global health is desirable.
REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidates for these positions will have an earned doctorate in nursing or a related field prior to appointment and a history of research disseminated in peer-reviewed publications. Preference will be given to candidates with current extramural research funding in relevant areas, or experience in grant-writing and a history of obtaining funding. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for research and academic teaching, commitment to participate in an academic environment with a strong faculty governance structure, and commitment to share in the Department's vision/mission to optimize the health and well-being of children, women, and families in a changing multicultural society through our nursing research programs, teaching and practice, and service to the community. Research programs in family health care issues can include, but are not limited to, maternal/child health, diabetes, chronic illness, end-of-life care, and patient safety.
One to two years of post-doctoral experience strongly preferred.
Nurse practitioner preparation and certification with more than one year clinical care experience is desirable.
