The newly CCNE accredited and growing University of Houston-Victoria School of Nursing seeks 3 qualified applicants with expertise in adult / mental health, simulation, and nursing administration for 9 month Tenure or Clinical Track positions beginning January 2010. Spring 2010 Adjunct Faculty positions also available.

Faculty responsibilities include: ongoing curriculum development and evaluation; classroom and clinical instruction using on-site, simulation, and distance education strategies; some travel; participation in school and university committees; engaging in scholarship, service and academic advising.

Qualifications:
1. Doctorate or substantial progress toward doctorate in nursing or related field.*
2. Master’s degree in nursing from accredited school of nursing.
3. Candidate must possess or be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas.
4. Minimum 2 years nursing experience.
5. Excellent clinical and communication skills.
6. Teaching experience preferred.

*Will consider applicants who do not possess stated qualifications for consideration for clinical track positions.

The School of Nursing is proud of its excellent Second Degree BSN, RN-BSN and MSN academic programs, innovative online education, simulation laboratory, and supportive student environment for both face-to-face and distance learning. Ability to teach a variety of upper level undergraduate specialty areas is a plus. Summer teaching is normally available.
