10-month-per-year, tenure-track position
Primary Function: The Assistant Professor, Nursing (Medical-Surgical Nursing) will be primary responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the discipline of Medical-Surgical Nursing. Specifically, these courses will include lecture, clinical instruction, and campus lab instruction. Clinical instruction may be assigned to various times of the day on any day of the week (Monday – Sunday), and the assignment may be changed at any time.
Minimum Qualifications: Must meet all of the qualifications listed under a) through d):
a) A Master’s degree in Nursing
b) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure as an RN in the state of California
c) Experience providing direct patient care as a bedside RN within the past five years in Medical-Surgical Nursing
d) Eligibility for approval as an instructor by the California State Board of Registered Nursing
Only coursework completed at, and degrees awarded by, accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education will be considered as satisfying the minimum qualifications.
