Creighton University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution, invites applications for a 9 month, full-time, tenure track faculty position in behavioral/mental health on the College of Nursing’s Omaha campus for August 2014.
Creighton University, located in Omaha, Nebraska, is a comprehensive Jesuit university composed of nine colleges and schools including Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Professional Studies, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Health Professions, Dentistry, and a Graduate School. The College of Nursing offers programs at the baccalaureate (BSN), masters (MSN), and doctoral (DNP) levels. Creighton University College of Nursing has a campus in Hastings, Nebraska. The College of Nursing serves over 400 students in its BSN programs and over 300 students in its graduate nursing programs.
Faculty responsibilities will include classroom instruction, clinical teaching/supervision of students, curriculum development, and academic advising. Other faculty responsibilities include those associated with service and scholarship.
Candidates must possess at least a master’s degree in nursing and 3 years of clinical nursing experience. An earned doctorate or enrollment in a doctoral program is preferred. Ideally, the candidate will have experience in classroom instruction and clinical supervision. The candidate must have a current unencumbered licensure as an RN in the state of Nebraska, or eligibility for licensure. National certification and licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in an appropriate nurse practitioner field is required if applicable.
Both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Creighton University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. Creighton University is an AA/EEO/ADA Employer.
