Provide continuing leadership and a high quality of care as an Oncology Assistant Nurse Manager! Oncology is a 41 bed acute care Medical/Renal/General Medical unit and is the home of a five-bed inpatient dialysis unit. The acuity of the patients on the unit ranges from seriously ill oncology and medical patients to renal dialysis patients. The nursing staff consists of RN's and CNA's under the direction of a Nurse Manager, as well as Assistant Nurse Managers on the different shifts who provide continuing leadership and a high quality of care throughout each 24-hour period.

Duties include, but are not limited to: assist in the supervision, direction and evaluation of all activities in the unit; assist in the development and monitoring of annual budgets and ensure the availability of needed materials, supplies and equipment; participate in performance improvement activities, monitor and evaluate unit function. Must possess a broad range of skills including communication team building, organization, leadership, and critical thinking. Must be flexible and able to accept a wide variety of assignments.

Commensurate with educational preparation and area of assignment, demonstrates knowledge and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet the specific needs of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, and/or geriatric patients.
Adequate visual and hearing ability to read and perform nursing procedures safely.
Manual dexterity adequate to perform skills and procedures of patient care safely.
Position requires frequent standing and walking, as well as the physical ability to safely lift, pull and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted, and over 100 pounds with assistance using proper body mechanics.
Must be able to bend, pull, stretch and reach to accomplish duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
The successful incumbent must possess the following:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; AND
Current licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon; AND
MS certification or ability to obtain within one year from date of hire; AND
BSN or agreement to actively pursue BSN.
Preference may be given to candidates possessing education preparation in management.
