St. Catherine University Open Position: Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs Department of Nursing
St. Catherine University in St. Paul/Minneapolis is a comprehensive Catholic university with the nation’s largest college for women at its center. The Department of Nursing invites applicants for the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs. This position is a 12-month contract, full-time ranked faculty position beginning Spring 2013. Rank and salary commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs collaborates with the undergraduate program of study coordinators to promote student learning, curriculum integrity, and faculty development in the Day Section and Evening/Weekend Section of the Associate Degree Program and the Day Section, RN-Baccalaureate Degree Completion Section, and the Post-Baccalaureate Second Degree Section in the Baccalaureate Degree Program. The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs serves on committees in the Henrietta Schmoll School of Health, College of Applied and Continuing Learning, and College for Women, collaborates with other program and department heads at the University, and represents the undergraduate nursing programs to internal and external partners and communities of interest. The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs reports to the Associate Dean for Nursing and collaborates with the Associate Dean for Nursing in accreditation and review processes. The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs engages in teaching, scholarship, and service per University guidelines.
Requirements: Doctoral degree, preferably in nursing, Master’s degree or PhD in nursing, administrative experience, teaching experience in higher degree nursing education in an academic setting, and eligibility for RN licensure in the State of Minnesota are required. Commitment to shared leadership with program of study coordinators and collaborative engagement with faculty and students are essential.
