The College of Nursing at the University of South Florida is actively seeking qualified scholars specializing in a variety of clinical and research areas. Candidates with evidence of strong teaching skills, a program of research or creative work supported by scholarly activity, and a desire to be a part of a truly collaborative and interdisciplinary education and research environment are encouraged to apply. We offer educational degree programs at the bachelors, masters, DNP, and PhD levels, with over 350 clinical partnerships in the greater Tampa Bay area. We are the fastest growing research university in the United States, and the College of Nursing was ranked 25th in NIH funding in 2011. We are developing Centers of Excellence in research that build on faculty strengths in: Chronic Illness, Symptom Management, Oncology, Palliative Care, Women’s Health, Psychoneuroimmunology, and Veterans’ Health. We are an integral partner of USF Health, engaging in inter-professional initiatives with students and faculty in medicine, public health, pharmacy, and physical therapy and providing unique opportunities for collaborations in education and research.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for setting the strategic vision of the PhD program and will administer the program, its faculty, and students; advise and mentor students, teach courses, conduct scholarly activity, establish a research program with external funding, and engage in college, university, community and professional service activities commensurate with the rank of Associate or full Professor.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience): Qualified candidates will possess a PhD in Nursing or closely related health sciences field; at least five years of experience in post-secondary education, teaching at the graduate level as a ranked faculty member; be eligible to practice as an RN in the state of Florida; and have a history of established or funded research (independent and collaborative) or creative work supported by publications.
Preferred Qualifications (Education & Experience): Prior experience in faculty academic administration; current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner; experience with technology supported educational methods (online and blended format); demonstrated ability to work effectively with community partners.
