Provides oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management. Addresses patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise. Supervises nurses and staff and takes administrative responsibilities. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Requires an Associate's degree in nursing, licensure as a registered nurse (RN), and 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Critical Care, ER or Case Management experience preferred. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
