The University of Maine School of Nursing invites applications for one full-time tenure track or tenure eligible faculty position in psychiatric-mental health nursing beginning September 2009 or when a suitable candidate is identified. This titled appointment is in partnership with The Acadia Hospital, the first free-standing psychiatric hospital to achieve Magnet status. University of Maine responsibilities include teaching, academic advisement, participation in School and University committees, and scholarship. Additional expectations for this titled position include scholarly activity with The Acadia Hospital staff. Applications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is identified.
A doctoral degree in nursing or related field and a Master of Science in Nursing are required at the time of appointment. Successful applicants must have academic and experiential qualifications to teach psychiatric mental health nursing and the interest and ability to develop a program of research related to care of persons with mental illness and/or substance dependency with our community partner, The Acadia Hospital.
