Inspired and Motivated

I had the pleasure of first meeting Lena through a co-worker of mine at an open house at Thomas Jefferson University. From the beginning Lena was receptive and provided very encouraging words to inspire me into pursuing a career in anesthesia. I had always thought about becoming a CRNA but would become discouraged by information I would read from various publications and things I was being told by others from various programs. I decided to take Lena up on her offer to attend the lucheon and I must say how blessed and fortunate I feel to have been in the presence of everyone who attended that weekend. After hearing the stories of so many, and experiencing the positive words of encouragement from CRNA's, SRNA's and Nurses alike, I have a new found motivation to pursue my goal of becoming a CRNA. Without attending this luncheon I don't know if I would have that desire and drive to pursue the goal of becoming a CRNA. The forum that Lena provides allows for you to not just read about what nurses go through to become CRNA's but to meet the nurses who have gone through, those who continue to go through as well as those who plan on going throuh the struggle of becoming a CRNA. I felt a kinship with all those in attendance that I know without meeting Lena I wouldn't have felt anywhere else. As I told Lena, what she is doing is helping to empower many who may have had doubts that they could successfully achieve their goals by becoming CRNA's of thr future. I can now say with confidence "Not if I get in school" but "Once I'm done school" when speaking of my future as a CRNA and I owe all the renewed confidence and faith to Lena and the program that she has developed!
