Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA) are anesthesia specialists who administer approximately 65 % of the 26 million anesthetics given to patients each year in the United States. CRNAs are the sole anesthesia providers in nearly half of all hospitals and more than two-thirds of the rural hospitals in the United States, affording these medical facilities obstetrical, surgical, and trauma stabilization capabilities which cannot be achieved without CRNA anesthesia services.

Qualified candidates will have significant experience teaching at the university level, a strong curriculum background, demonstrated leadership and management skills. A baccalaureate and a Master's degree in nursing, an earned doctorate and eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Texas are required.
