Adolph Van Pelt Scholarships

Adolph Van Pelt scholarships are awarded based upon financial need and merit. Grants are awarded in August and sent to the school. The funds may be used to pay for tuition, books and other academic-related expenses. Students are chosen based upon their application, biographical essay including career goals and interests, most recent transcript and financial aid award letter including school educational budget, schedule of classes, and two letters of recommendation as well as proof of Native American heritage (at least 25%).

The blood quantum requirement is a condition set down by the donor of this scholarship. A grant is renewable for up to four years towards any one degree. Each year the grant is renewed, $100 is added to the student's scholarship (e.g. if awarded $500 the first year, the second year is $600 and so on). Send a stamped self-addressed envelope for an application, which is due August 1 of each year and recipients are notified by September 15.
