TITLE:  FT Faculty Nursing

Job Duties:
The full-time, 12-month, faculty reports to the Asst. Director of Nursing within the Division of Health Professions.  The position modification will be supported through the President’s Community Based Job Training Grant as implemented by the U. S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (US DOL/ETA).

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assume primary and/or secondary teaching responsibilities in each Access nursing course offered during any 12-month period.  Specifically serve as a primary instructor for NURS 9306 Childbearing/Childrearing.
  • Facilitate student learning by developing course curriculum, learning outcomes, course handouts, lectures, labs, presentations, exams and other evaluation measures.
  • Participate in nursing lab experiences via planning, equipment preparation, scheduling, instruction and validation.  Assume primary responsibility for conducting Older Adult Lab.
  • Coordinate student clinical experiences by scheduling, communicating with healthcare facilities, providing clinical instruction and evaluating students as course outcomes require.
  • Evaluate student performance and suggest changes to improve student learning.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, and personal conferences.
  • Serve on committees, task forces, etc. (including department, division and college-wide assignments).
  • Participate in planning for nursing students’ graduation and pinning ceremony.
  • Maintain and submit course/student records and grant-related records by established deadlines in accordance with FERPA regulations.

Qualifications:
A Master’s degree is preferred; a Bachelor’s in Nursing is required. Additional requirements:

  • A current Registered Nursing License and three to five years relevant work experience in obstetrical nursing.
  • Three to five years experience in formal nursing education
