Dean of the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health SciencesUniversity of Colorado at Colorado Springs, COThe University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences, available August 1, 2008. The University seeks to enhance learning and scholarship by creating an inclusive environment and experience for members of diverse communities. UCCS, one of three universities in the University of Colorado system, emphasizes a broad range of degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences and professional programs in business, education, engineering, nursing and health sciences, and public affairs. Beth-El offers the Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing, including an accelerated BSN and an RN to BSN; the Master of Science in Nursing; the Doctorate in Nursing Practice; the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Sciences (with tracks in forensic science, nutrition, and sports health and wellness promotion); and several tracks (forensic science and sports medicine) within the university’s Master of Sciences degree. Currently, the College has approximately 900 undergraduate and graduate students, 24 full-time faculty, and 7 staff. The programs of the College are fully accredited with the Colorado State Board of Nursing and with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. The Dean of the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences is the senior administrative, academic and financial officer for the College and reports to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. To be considered qualified, applicants must have an earned doctorate in nursing or an appropriate discipline; a record of teaching and scholarship warranting the award of tenure; and previous experience in higher education and/or senior executive administration.
