Faculty Positions

Southern Connecticut State University, Department of Nursing, New Haven, CT

The Department of Nursing invites applications for 4 full-time tenure track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank beginning fall 2008. The department is seeking dynamic and talented individuals with expertise in baccalaureate and higher degree programs, experience in curriculum development, and evidence of scholarly accomplishments. Experience or interest in accelerated programs is desirable. The Department has a large undergraduate program, a new second degree accelerated BSN, online RN-BSN program, and a graduate program with specializations in Advanced Practice (Family Nurse Practitioner), Nursing Education, and Clinical Nurse Leader. Required Qualifications: Specific teaching responsibilities will depend on the candidates’ areas of expertise. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in more than one clinical area. Areas of specific interest are: Child Health, Community Health, and Adult Health, and Fundamentals/Laboratory teaching/supervision. Opportunities to teach in the graduate program for candidates with earned doctorates and/or advanced practice credentials. Qualifications: MS in Nursing required. Candidates pursuing doctoral studies will be considered if other criteria are met. A doctoral degree will be required to be considered for tenure.
