POSITION TITLE: Basic Nurse Assistant Training (Position Code BNA-09). Rank to be determined by qualifications.

LOCATION: Skokie, IL

SALARY RANGE: $38,284 (minimum) to $58,604 (maximum) for a 9 month contract. Additional salary can be earned through overloads and summer assignments. A new collective bargaining agreement that will begin with the 2008-2009 academic year is being negotiated.

DATE OPEN: The anticipated starting date is August 17, 2009.

Oakton faculty are expected to engage in professional development activities, and institutional and departmental service. Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.

Located seventeen miles from downtown Chicago, Oakton serves northern Cook County with campuses in Des Plaines and Skokie, Illinois.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, a current RN license, two years of nursing experience with one year focusing on care for the elderly. Formal teaching experience or an Illinois Department of Public Health Train the Trainer certificate are required. Preferred qualifications are a Master’s degree, teaching experience with culturally diverse students, an ability to work collaboratively with other nursing faculty, and an enthusiastic commitment to innovations in teaching and learning. Ability to teach didactic, laboratory and clinical components are an integral part of the BNAT program. Ability to work a flexible schedule is required.
