Dean, College of Nursing

The University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ

The University of Arizona (UA) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean, College of Nursing. As chief academic and administrative officer for the College, the Dean reports to the Executive Vice President and Provost of the University. The Dean will have an earned doctorate in nursing or related field, a record of distinguished professional practice and/or scholarship, and be qualified for the rank of Professor. The ideal candidate will have previous academic administrative experience that demonstrates qualities of leadership and management. The start date for this position is July 1 or as soon as possible thereafter.

The UA College of Nursing

Established in 1957, the College is currently ranked among the top 6% of graduate nursing schools in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. The UA College of Nursing offers a tradition of excellence in research, practice, scholarship and service. Faculty members are globally-renowned and have collaborative partnerships with national and international universities. The College is a leader in the preparation of nurse scientists and scholars. Our alumni hold prominent leadership positions in the nation and abroad. The UA College of Nursing is proud of its climate of collegiality among faculty and staff. The College and its faculty are dedicated to providing a premier educational experience for students at the baccalaureate and graduate levels. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for traditional students and a 14-month accelerated BSN partnership program for college graduates. It also offers Master of Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice and Doctor of Philosophy degree programs. The MS and DNP programs offer four nurse practitioner specialties. The state-of-the-art PhD Program prepares scientists to conduct theory-based research in nursing, engage in scholarly dialogue, and contribute to the advancement of nursing knowledge. All graduate degrees can be delivered through state-of-the-art online technologies. The College of Nursing collaborates with other University of Arizona Colleges in the development of interprofessional educational experiences.
