Health Sciences Clinical Instructors

University of California, Irvine, The Program in Nursing Science, College of Health Sciences, Irvine, CA

The Program in Nursing Science, College of Health Sciences has part-time Health Sciences Clinical Instructor positions available immediately. The Health Sciences Clinical Instructors will be primarily responsible for clinical instruction in affiliated hospitals in Orange County. The Health Sciences Clinical Instructors will also assist with formative and summative assessment and simulated activities related to undergraduate and graduate education programs as they are implemented in the Program of Nursing Science. The Health Sciences Clinical Instructors will have non-tenured academic appointments in the Program in Nursing Science.

Due to the clinical nature of the clinical training programs, strong consideration will be given to candidates that have a current clinical background at the level of an advanced practice nurse or nurse practitioner. The incumbent must be clinically competent in medical-surgical, psychiatry or other specialty areas, such as obstetrics, pediatrics, critical care or geriatrics, and have worked in a clinical environment in the past 3-5 years. The incumbent must be able to use instructional technology, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have effective management skills and be able to work a flexible schedule that occasionally may include evenings or weekend assignments. Master's degree preferred; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing and California RN license required.
