Director of Technology and Distance Education

Capstone College of Nursing, Tuscaloosa, AL

The Director of Technology and Distance Education is a leadership, non-tenure track position within the College of Nursing focused on providing leadership in the use of technology and learning management systems, i.e., elearning and distance education. A successful candidate will have experience in managing fiscal resources related to computer hardware and software. The director will assure that faculty and students are provided with assistance in the use of technology as needed. The director will oversee the college's learning resource center including the environment, equipment, supplies, policies and procedures, and staff. The director will ensure that the CCN website is current and updated annually. The director will oversee operation of the Simulation Center and collaborate with faculty to promote the center locally and nationally.

Qualifications - Doctorate in nursing, informatics, healthcare management, education, communication or related field. Successful baccalaureate or graduate teaching experience and administrative experience required. Knowledge about state-of-the-art information technology and its use in nursing and education; ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment. Competitive salary and benefits package. Rank of assistant, associate or full professor will be based on qualifications of the individual appointed to the position.
