(CRNA) Diversity Luncheon
I would like to thank you Lena for putting together such a enjoyable and powerful information session last Saturday at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Last year, I decided to start out on my journey to become a CRNA and found the diversitycrna.org website while searching the web for information. I immediately contacted Lena and was excited that this luncheon was a yearly event! I am so pleased that I attended because I now feel like I have a road map for this wonderful career that I desire. The speakers were honest about the rigors of the program and all seem so grateful to Lena for her support and guidance through various stages of the process. The information packet was full of valuable information (medications, care plan samples, book lists, etc). Even more importantly, the emphasis on our responsibility to reach back and support each other was moving.
I plan to apply to a program this fall and realize all the work I need to do to prepare myself for the interview process and hopefully acceptance into a program. Unfortunately, I moved from NYC to georgia and there are only 2 schools in the entire state. Fortunely my family is willing to make the sacrifice with me if I have to leave the state of Georgia for a short while to realize my dreams.
Through my research, I realized last year that becoming a CRNA was not going to be easy. After attending the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship program, I KNOW it won't be easy, but I don't have to do it alone!!! Thank you and God Bless you Lena.
Sincerely, Tracy

Diversity Luncheon
Tue, 03/31/2009 - 12:26pm — ctrustyI have wanted to become a CRNA for at least 4 years now but have been too afraid to do what needs to be done so that I could apply. Anyhow, after attending the Diversity Luncheon, I was so inspired by what I had heard from all of the panelist, that I am getting myself prepared.
I know that it will be a long tough journey but I am excited. And now I have some support and direction thanks to Wallena and her board. Thank you so much. I can't wait.
