CRITICAL CARE OPPORTUNITIES
Good afternoon,
I am very excited about the Nurse anesthesia profession. I am a recent career changer into the world of nursing. I have been interested in this profession since I entered nursing school. I have been paying attention to all the necessary steps for Nurse Anesthesia Entrance. However, there is one step that I am having difficulty with: Critical Care experience. I am from NJ/Philadelphia area. I am not sure if its the area, but critical care opportunities are scarce for a novice nurse. I am currently working in a non-telemetry Medical Surgical Unit. I had the opportunity to acquire a critical care experience out of school, but did not feel prepared. Now that I have 6 months under my belt it seems harder because I am not considered a "new grad." My GPA is high, I know SRNAs, Anesthesiologist, and CRNAs to serve as references. I'm just having difficulty gaining a critical care experience, an interview at that. I know I will after a year, or 2 years. But time is of the essence and there is no time like today.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME WITH CRITICAL CARE OPENINGS FOR A NURSE WITH <1 OF EXPERIENCE? I AM READY TO RELOCATE. I AM HUNGER AND TRYING TO STAY MOTIVATED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.
THANK YOU!
