Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award - Advanced Practice Nurse, Top National Winner/Lena Gould, CRNA, MSN

Hello Everyone

M. Acosta, from the last posting made reference to the fact of the recent award that was bestowed upon me on Thursday. The 2009 Cherokee Inspired Comfort Award - Advanced Practice Nurse, Top National Honor. This was made only through one submission to the Selection Committee by Wendy Agard, BSN, CCRN who attended the Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Information Session Luncheon at Rutgers University (March 2009). The award recognizes exceptional service, sacrifice and innovation...who lead and love by example.

I am immensely humbled by this award and will continue to advocate for those who historically have not been able to join the elite ranks of Nurse Anesthetists across the country. I am inspired from your drive, personal motivation and desire to do what is exceptionally necessary to make this rigorous decision into reality. You have a great support system of dedicated CRNAs and Nurse Anesthesia Students who will ensure your success.

Warmest Regards Lena
