Sara Torres, Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., with contributor, Patti Urso, Ph.D., A.P.R.N.-B.C.
Dr. Sara Torres is the Associate Dean of Walden University's School of Nursing. She is nationally recognized for her research on interpersonal violence. She conducted one of the first national comparative studies of Hispanic women's attitudes toward domestic violence and has received funds from the National Institutes of Health for various research projects. She also co-authored the book Hispanic Voices: Hispanic Health Educators Speak Out. Before joining Walden University, she served as Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and as associate professor and chair of the School of Nursing's Department of Behavioral and Community Health at the University of Maryland.
