Welcome to MinorityNurse.com, the only online resource for today’s diversified nursing community.
We provide resources and information pertaining to education, career development, and minority health for the ever increasing number of minority nurses in America.
African Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, and Filipinos comprise roughly 10% of the overall nursing population. In the 1990s, the number increased at a faster rate (19.1%) than the number of all registered nurses (14.2%).* Also, because of an aging population and an increase in health care technology, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that there will be 20.5 million new health care jobs by 2020,* creating even more room for growth.
In response to this growing audience, MinorityNurse.com was created as an extension of Minority Nurse magazine. The website features several unique resources that focus on career advancement and higher education. Nursing Employers provide contact information for every hospital in the country, as well as a list of featured employers that are actively hiring nurses and allied health personnel. If you’re looking for a career change, you can also try the nursing Faculty Employment for all things academia, or Job Postings for all general nursing opportunities.
Nursing Education allows visitors to search for undergraduate, graduate, nursing diploma, CRNA, associate’s degree, and continuing education programs. Our list of Featured Nursing Programs is a great place to start. Our section on Financial Aid provides information on obtaining funding for school and allows users to explore a collection of nursing scholarships.
MinorityNurse.com also reports on nationwide career and health care conferences.
